The Deck

Everything we covered today was honest, and some of it was hard. The bias is real. The market is brutal. The bar keeps rising. But notice what almost none of that touched: the things that actually decide your raise — your numbers, your story, your preparation — sit on your side of the table. That isn't the consolation prize. It's the part that wins.

So walk in prepared, and walk in certain. Not because the room will be fair, but because when you've done the work, fairness matters less — you've left them no easy way to say no. You're building something hard, in a system that won't make it easy, and you're still here doing it. That's not naïvety; it's exactly what a founder is made of. Now go and raise it.
