Why we backed Symbe
SVV (Sure Valley Ventures) has invested in Symbe's $5.7 million funding round, led by Kfund. Symbe helps enterprise sales teams turn buyer interest into business decisions.
At SVV, we meet thousands of AI companies every year. Many of them are impressive in a demo, but it is very rare to meet someone who can instantly convey who their product helps and why that person would struggle without it. After enough of these meetings, you learn to spot within the first few minutes which kind of company you're looking at.
With Symbe, this was obvious from the first meeting. Martin Blinder and the team didn't open with the technology. They opened with a problem that anyone who has worked in sales will recognise. A buyer likes your product, then has to go into a meeting you're not invited to and convince their colleagues it represents value. That's where most deals quietly stall. Within half an hour it was clear Martin and his team understood that problem better than anyone we'd spoken to, and that they had built something salespeople actually wanted to use to fix it.
Founded by Martin Blinder, Thomas Laurbjerg, Oliver MacCarthy and Xavier Wilders, Symbe helps sales teams and their buyers build business cases together. By working through the numbers, assumptions and expected value collaboratively, buyers have the evidence they need to champion a purchase internally.
It's an increasingly important challenge. AI has made building software easier, but buying decisions more complex. Enterprise customers are questioning whether to build or buy, budgets are under greater scrutiny, and a great demo is no longer enough to close a deal.
What particularly caught our attention was Symbe's organic adoption. More than 2,500 companies have now used the platform to build business cases, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, monday.com, FICO and BMC Helix. Within organisations, the product has spread through salespeople recommending it to colleagues, rather than top-down mandates. That kind of organic traction is a strong signal that a real problem is being solved.
The team also brings a strong track record. Martin, Thomas and Oliver previously worked together at Tictrac, scaling the business through to its acquisition by Dialogue in 2022. Together with co-founder and CTO Xavier, they're now bringing that experience to Symbe.
We invested in Symbe's $5.7 million round in April, led by Kfund, alongside 4Founders Capital, Circle Rock, Next Tier, Concept Ventures, Pact Venture Partners and Notion Capital, and we're delighted to have them in the SVV portfolio.
As AI continues to transform how software is built, helping businesses understand what is worth buying represents a significant opportunity. We believe Symbe is exceptionally well positioned to capture it.
